World Games Call Up
On Saturday 29 July, Speedway is making a return to the The World Games 2017 – Wrocław after being invited to appear as an ‘invitational sport’ and Max will be joining Australia’s strongest pairing of Jason Doyle and Chris Holder as the reserve rider representing team Australia.
The World Games is held every four years over a 10 day period and has developed into one of the largest sporting occasions in the world, second only to the Olympic Games to which it is affiliated. It provides a platform for sports which are not usually included in the Olympics and its great that the FIM Speedway World Games have been included in the program.
Teams have been entered by Denmark, Sweden, Russia, Australia, Germany, Poland and Great Britain.
“This will be an exciting event to be a part of and provides a great opportunity to showcase our sport to a much larger audience, said Max. It’s always an honour to pull on the Australian suit and I’ve been very fortunate this year to represent my country on a number of occasions. I’m very grateful for the opportunities given to me this year” he continued.
The next individual event on Max’s calendar is the final round of the Speedway Best Pairs Cup scheduled on 17 August in Gneizno, Poland followed by the Speedway GP Qualifier Final to be held in Russia on 19 August.
