Aussie Season Roundup
Since arriving home early November I’ve had some time to catch up with family and friends and enjoy some time in the sun camping, water skiing and gaining a good fitness level out training on my road bicycle. It’s been great to have a bit of down time after a busy season getting time to freshen up and re-charge the batteries but there has also been quite of bit of racing thrown in.
The Australian Speedway Season commences in November with some individual events and the State Titles before ramping up for the Australian Championships and Under 21 Title events in January.
I’ve had a pretty good campaign and have raced in 11 events across NSW, SA and Victoria commencing with the NSW State Title on 15 November. I’ve been happy with my performances and have managed a podium finish on 6 occasions and never placed below 7th which I did in the final round of the Australian Senior Title event at Kurri Kurri when due to a mechanical failure I was unable to meet the time limit and was excluded from participating in the B final. In spite of this, I ended the series 4th place overall mainly thanks to consistent scoring in all events and in particular a 2nd place at the third round held at Undera in Victoria. Full details of my results and scoring in individual events can be found on my results page.
I’m now looking forward defending my Under 21 Australian Title next weekend and hope I can end up on that elusive top step of the podium.
