Fantastic Start By the Monarchs

Last weekend the mighty Monarchs matched the all time record for most wins on the trot at the start of a season by winning our 6th match in a row.  The team are performing really well and last weekend we won both home and away matches against one of the most highly rated teams for 2014.  This fantastic start has ensured that morale is really high and everyone is rapt to be a part of the Monarchs 2014 campaign.  Generally, all riders are performing as expected with some of us doing much better than we could have hoped.

Personally, I’ve been extremely  happy with my performances and my gating seems to have improved, particularly at home, and this has enabled me to add some really valuable points to the team tally.  On the last two occasions at home I was one of the teams best performers so got to ride in the last heat of the night which is reserved for the two best scoring riders from each side and managed to win one (my first ever heat 15 win).  I hope that I can continue with my current form and feel sure that the other members of my team are also wondering how much longer our winning streak can last.

I think the time that I spent at Torun, which included a couple of practice sessions and 2 challenge matches against some of Poland’s top riders,  has helped to boost my confidence and given me the drive to ride against the best riders in the Premier League.

Based on my consistent high scores for Edinburgh,  I’ve been asked to guest ride in my first Elite League match this season on the weekend.   I’ll then be heading over to Denmark next week for the season opening meeting with the Outrup Speedway Club and I’ll also be looking forward to returning to Poland as soon as I can to get some more track time there.

In the meantime, have a look at the Monarchs website to check the results in more detail and also read some of the match reports that are posted there.
