We’re in the Grand Final!

As a result of my accident I spent 2 weeks on the sidelines and missed quite a few matches including both the semi final replays against Somerset for the Premier League Knockout Cup. Unfortunately the Monarchs lost so we haven’t progressed to the final. My back was still sore getting back on the bike and I probably returned a little early but really wanted to get back in and help the team out at this important part of the season.

The Play Offs

We’ve had a really good run in the Premier League Playoffs and won all our home meetings and also took the full four points against Ipswitch at their home track and also one point from the Workington meeting which means from our Playoff group, the Monarchs have progressed to the Premier League Grand Final.  The Monarchs had won the Premier League Fours Teams event earlier this year and it would be fantastic for the team to also take out the major prize of the Premier League Grand Final.

The weather has started to change and the other playoff group have had some difficulty completing their rounds to determine who would progress in their group.  This was finally determined and the Somerset Rebels will be our opponents at the 2 meetings to be held Friday  25 October (at Armadale) and Monday  28th (at Somerset). We’ve now had nearly three weeks out of competition so it’s going to be difficult for the Monarchs to be race ready however, if we are all performing well, this clash has the potential to be a huge match as some of the best racing in the Premier League this year has been between Edinburgh and Somerset. Somerset are a very strong team and would probably start favourites to win but you can never under estimate the Monarchs.

Bring it on.
