Edinburgh v Glasgow
The Glasgow Tigers came to Armadale Stadium last night to contest the first leg of the Spring Trophy which the Monarchs won quite convincingly at 59 – 31.
This was our first outing on our home track and we were able to get a short practice on the track prior to the meeting which was good as none of us had had an opportunity to ride the track since the improvements and changes made over the winter break. I’m pretty happy with the Armadale Stadium and think it will suit my style once I get things working properly. I was able to contribute to the overall score this time by taking third place in two of my heats. I’m still experiencing a bit of difficulty getting the jump off the start which is a crucial part of every race and will continue to work on this.
The team are working together really well and to have such a great win at our first home match is looking good for a great season ahead.
Next weekend will be a very busy one. We will meet the Leicester Lions at home on Friday night followed by the return match at Leicester (5 hrs drive) on Saturday night. It will then be straight in the car to get back to Edinburgh as we have to be prepped and ready for the 3.00 pm start of the second leg of the Spring Trophy against Glasgow on Sunday.
