Some updates on recent results…..

Kurri Kurri

I headed to Kurri Kurri on Christmas Day to race in the Jason Crump Invitational Meeting to be held on Boxing Day.

Once again a strong field was in attendance with mostly NSW riders being represented which was good for me as I hadn’t had the opportunity to race against some of these guys.

Racing at Kurri is always fast on the big open track and this night was no exception.  It ended up being a really tough nights racing.

I ended up on 5 points after I broke a chain on the line in my first heat and tried to play catchup for the rest of the night.

Top four finishers were:  Troy Batchelor, Jason Doyle, Alex Davies and Sam Masters.

Sidecar Championships Support Race – Gillman

This meeting was an important one for the sidecar fraternity with five solo riders providing support and gave me an opportunity to test the set up of my new engine on the Gillman track ready for the Australian Title Qualifier round on 4 January.

I had a pretty successful night winning all 5 heats but most importantly, ended up pretty happy with how my bike went.

Jason Lyons Tribute Meeting – Mildura

This meeting followed the Australian Junior Pairs Title and I was glad to have the opportunity to race in the competitive line up.   I went through the night and after my four heats I had 8 points which was enough to get me through one of the two semi finals.  Top two riders from each semi then faced off in the final for the night.

I made it through and drew yellow in the final with Cameron Woodman, Justin Sedgeman and Cory Gathercole completing the grid.  I went a bit wide off the start and dropped back on the 2nd turn and then spent a couple of laps chasing down the three guys in front.  However,  on the third lap, Cameron Woodward spun and brought down Justin Sedgeman and Cory Gathercole.   I was fortunate at the back to be able to avoid the fallout and there was no rerun to the final.

I’m  now looking forward to the Australian Senior Qualifier on Friday night at Gillman.
