Weekend of 24 – 25 November, 2012
I headed to Gillman speedway at Adelaide last weekend for the Jack Young Solo Cup. I had a great night’s racing and after 5 heats I had 12 points which put me into the B final which was my goal for the event. I had a great race with fellow Victorian, Jake Anderson and managed to come up with the win which put me in the A final
Overall favourite for the event, Shane Parker, went through the tapes and was eliminated leaving 3 of us to contest the Final.
Ty Proctor lead from the start to take the win followed by Todd Kurtz and me in 3rd. This was a great result for me and I was pretty happy with how the night panned out.
The following night we headed to Mildura for the Solo and Sidecar Masters event held at Olympic Park. Racing was again really fast and strongly contested. After 4 rounds I was equal 2nd on points and got a start in the A final from red. Justin Sedgeman, the hometown boy who was undefeated all night, went on to win the final. I took 2nd place followed by Todd Kurtz in 3rd.
I’ve been really happy with the way my season has started and only hope that I can continue to hold good form and improve over the summer months.
