Max Shines in Queensland

After a long drive to Brisbane I was wrapped to add another State Title to my collection when I won the Queensland Junior 125cc Speedway Title which was held at North Brisbane on the weekend.

A full field of competitors attended to challenge for the title and strong performances were put in by many of the riders.  I rode really well throughout the heats and top scored on the maximum 15 points to secured the best start gate for the final.  After jumping ahead of the competition from the start gate I wasn’t challenged throughout the race crossed the finish line in 1st place to take the title.

I also entered to race in the Queensland Junior 350cc Title but due to the lack of numbers, there couldn’t be an official title race run so they renamed the race the Dave Booth Memorial Trophy.  After five heats of fierce racing  and some exceptionally fast times between the entrants, I top scored and again got a great start in the final and rode away from the field to take home the trophy.  As this was only my third race on the 350′s I was pretty happy with my performance.

Next week, December 3 is another interstate trip for my Dad and I when we will travel to Adelaide to defend the South Australian Junior 125cc championships.

I was also due to defend the Victorian title on December 10 however, the race has been postponed until a later date possibly in February.
